Queen’s attracts a community of outstanding student scholars from across the globe. There are a variety of financial aid programs available to assist International and U.S. students studying at Queen’s.

To reward the high level of academic excellence displayed by many of our incoming International and U.S. students, Queen’s offers a range of scholarships to students entering the first year of any first-entry undergraduate program of study.

Canadian citizens, those holding dual-citizenship, and Permanent Residents of Canada should visit the Admission Scholarships section for further information on scholarships and awards for incoming first-year domestic students. Information about scholarships, awards and other funding opportunities for graduate students can be found on the School of Graduate Studies website

Recipients of these scholarships will be selected automatically. By applying for admission to Queen’s all eligible applicants are automatically considered for the following admission scholarships:

Other Financial Assistance Options

In addition to the options discussed below, international students should also consider the Queen’s general bursary, work study program, and athletic financial awards (if applicable).

Queen’s University participates in the William D. Ford Federal Direct Loan https://worldpaydayloans.com/payday-loans-tx/falfurrias/ Program, in which US citizens or eligible US non citizens may apply for Federal loans directly from the US Department of Education. The Federal School code for Queen’s University is G06679.

Students are advised to contact the appropriate student loan agency in your country for further information. If you are sponsored by any agency or government (other than U.S. loans), you should ensure that proof and duration of sponsorship is sent to the Office of the University Registrar, Records and Services.

The Prince Takamado Visiting Student Scholarship at Queen’s University is awarded to a second or third-year student of Japanese nationality (citizen) who is currently enrolled in a Japanese university, and who will study at Queen’s University on a Letter of Permission from their home university.

U.S. students who have access to Section 529 Savings Plans are eligible to utilize these resources while studying at Queen’s University. To maximize U.S. Federal Tax benefits associated with Section 529 Savings Plans students will need to ensure that their savings plan’s administrator is informed of the U.S. Department of Education Federal School Code For Queen’s University (at Kingston, Ontario), which is G06679.

Queen’s University is a VA-approved institution (Department of Veterans Affairs). Applications are processed by the Student Awards Office. For further information regarding Veteran benefits visit the US Department of Veterans Affairs website.

First time applying for VA benefits, once you have made your application to the US Department of Veterans Affairs, email your Certificate of Eligibility provided by VA to to have your enrolment confirmed and certified.

In early July each academic year you must email and request that we confirm and certify your enrollment for VA.

If the degree program you intend to pursue has not yet been approved for VA benefits, you must contact the Student Awards Office by email and request that the school apply for program approval. Only a certifying official at Queen’s University . The student cannot submit the request on the school’s behalf.

Important: If your program approval is denied by VA you will be responsible to your school for all charges including tuition and fees.

If approved by VA, a cheque will be sent directly to Queen’s for your tuition and fees, once received it will be applied to your student fee account.

An Alternative Payment Arrangement which will extend the Fall tuition payment deadline to 30 September will be automatically added to your student account provided we receive your Certificate of Eligibility by 15 August.

You must contact the Student Awards Office before changing your course load or your program of study. These changes could result in a change to your benefit.
