Sorry for necroposting, but AVG Secure Browser is a PUP/grayware and I highly suggest uninstalling it, (alongside AVG) and switch to a better browser, (and a better AV) such as Chrome, Firefox, or Brave. (and Kaspersky, Bitdefender, or Panda)

Hello, greetings from AVG. We respect your choice, and we would like to clarify that AVG Secure browser is not a PUP.

AVG Secure Browser is a web browser with built-in security and privacy features to keep you safe online. The distinctive Security & Privacy Center includes a collection of tools and features that enable you to manage your online privacy, identity, and personal data.

It can be downloaded from our website or it is offered during the installation of AVG AntiVirus free or AVG Internet Security. Users can install or opt out.

used avg for years, today the outlaws asked me to fix their computer. low and behold avg has installed a browser without their permission that they didnt even know about but was using 50% of the computer resources, INCLUDING INTERNET BANDWITH. as it turns out the other half of the resources was taken up by avast which they had installed when the computer got slow because they thought AVG missed a virus (when it was the sodding virus slowing down the computer) and avast pulled the same crap installing a browser and making the computer unusable! FYI this is a gen 9 i7 with 8 gig ram and it was so swamped after startup settled it took 4 minutes to bring up the blue screen from ctrl-alt-del and anothe 7 to get the task manager to start.

so i spend an hour unstalling the 2 viruses. but they dont go away after install and the processes cant be quit. WTF im thinking.

Since your development team is having a hard time to understand what we are all trying to say on this thread

long story short, you have to restart in safe mode, then go through the registry (smd – regedit) and remove about 600 entrys per installed program. tweaking and cclean have the same BS going on if you still ahve issues. DO NOT INSTALL ANY OF THESE!

Lets take a look at this notification I received this morning. Now it is even worse. As I pointed out in (yes 3 years ago and this shit is till happening). the update is http://www.hookupdate.net/pl/tastebuds-recenzja DONE. the BIG ASS notification says we HAVE update your software. not WE ARE GOING TO update your software. so this is not a pre-installation where people normally pay attention to opt out of unwanted installs. this is just a notification to tell the user the update is FINISHED. You guys are really slimy and you are misleading your users. you guys know that even power users might be fooled and just click OK. because what does OK mean when it is presented on a computer notification. I TAKE NOTE. It is not an explicit question where you are given the choice of YES or NO. just OK.

This is literaly asking the user DO YOU WANT THIS SHIT. and giving the user just an OK button to click on.

We’re sorry for the discomfort this has caused you.Are you unable to uninstall AVG Secure Browser from your computer? If yes, please write back to us in your own/new post. We’ll then obtain further details & assist you accordingly.
